Our annual Art and Music Summer Program Meteorite in Giardino has reached this year its 10th edition, and what better occasion than its birthday to celebrate… in outer Space!

The 2017 edition takes on a “cosmic/space” character as it looks to the future, through Science and Technology, thanks to the collaboration with ALTEC-Aerospace Logistics Technology Engineering Company — the state-of-the-art Italian centre, located in Turin, which provides engineering and logistic support services for operations at the International Space Station and for the development and implementation of planetary exploration missions — and with INAF, the National Institute of Astro-Physics.

What do scientists and artists have in common? They definitely share inventiveness and the desire to observe and understand the reality around them, and in their own ways, they both express theories and facts, hypothesis and claims.

Proposing an encounter between the artistic imagination (both visual and musical) and scientific rigorousness, thus offers the opportunity to meet visitors’ curiosity and capture their sensibility, while promoting knowledge through the different disciplines.

The project is structured into three evening events: the first one will be at ALTEC in Corso Marche on Tuesday, June 20, the other two at Fondazione Merz in Via Limone, on Tuesday, June 27 and Thursday, July 6, respectively. Each event will feature the presentation of a site-specific artwork by a visual artist, a concert and a scientific session relating Art, Music and Science.
