The inaugural exhibition, promoted by the Associazione Arte Continua, together with the Municipality of Colle Val d’Elsa and the Fondazione Merz, is dedicated to Mario and Marisa Merz on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of their participation in the seventh edition of Arte all’Arte.

Donated to the city of Colle Val d’Elsa in 2001 by Cai Quo Qiang, as part of the sixth edition of Arte all’Arte, the museum will once again light up its luminous sign under the arches of the San Francesco bridge thanks to the restoration carried out with the support of the public funding PAC2020 – Plan for Contemporary Art promoted by the General Directorate for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture. The UMoCA will thus be able to become a permanent museum in its own right, linked to the natural, historical and cultural context of the area, in dialogue with citizens and visitors, according to the artist’s vision.
