Methods and experiences compared: art residencies as cultural bridges to connect cultures, communities and traditions, giving rise to dialogues that narrate and describe these experiences. Research, experimentation and sharing are the ingredients of a pathway that is conveyed by the artist through intuition and poetic expression. With Fondazione Merz and Fondazione OELLE Mediterraneo Antico, we will talk about how art residencies can contribute to promote culture and knowledge, while at the same time opening up alternative paths and new perspectives. This talk will be a moment of reflection on the residency itself and its potential as a format for productive growth. We will emphasize the various facets between the residency format in companies, like MADE IN organized by Artissima and Ultravioletto, arte + impresa, and the work on the territory of Fondazione OELLE and Fondazione Merz, underlining the specificities and opportunities offered by each approach.
